About Harmandip

Hi, I’m Harman, an ACA student and Audit Semi-Senior progressing to an Audit Senior role at a London-based accountancy firm.

I have around three years of experience in accounting and external audit, including previous experience at Grant Thornton. I am currently completing a Level 7 apprenticeship with ICAEW and have passed 10 of my 13 ACA examinations so far.

I followed an apprenticeship route after achieving exceptional results at GCSE and A-Level, including an A* in A-Level Business and Economics and a Grade 9 in GCSE Business. My academic background, combined with my professional experience, has given me a strong understanding of accounting, business, economics and finance, as well as how these subjects are applied in the real world.

I am passionate about helping students build confidence and achieve their academic goals. Having progressed from GCSE and A-Level studies into a professional accounting qualification and career, I understand the challenges students face and the importance of effective exam preparation.

I teach Accounting, Business and Economics at GCSE and A-Level, as well as supporting students studying towards the ICAEW ACA qualification.

Whether you’re preparing for an important examination, struggling with a particular topic or aiming to achieve the highest possible grades, I will tailor lessons to your individual needs and goals.

I am patient, approachable and committed to helping every student make meaningful progress.

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring is structured, practical and tailored to each student’s individual needs. I focus on helping students genuinely understand the subject rather than relying on memorisation, and I adapt my teaching style depending on their current level, confidence and goals.

I typically begin by identifying the student’s strengths and areas for improvement. I then explain concepts clearly using simple examples before moving on to exam-style questions and past-paper practice. I encourage students to work through questions themselves, allowing me to identify gaps in their understanding and provide targeted guidance. For exam preparation, I place particular emphasis on exam technique, understanding what examiners are looking for and learning how to maximise marks.

Lessons are typically 60 minutes, although I can adapt the length depending on the student’s age, level and requirements.

I currently work as an Audit Semi-Senior at a London accountancy firm and have around three years of professional experience in accounting and external audit, including previous experience at Grant Thornton. I am also studying towards the ICAEW ACA qualification and have passed 10 of my 13 examinations.

I offer lessons to GCSE and A-Level students studying Accounting, Business and Economics, as well as students studying towards the ICAEW ACA qualification. I can work with students of different abilities, whether they are looking to improve their grades, prepare for an upcoming examination or build confidence in a particular subject.

All lessons are delivered online, with evening and weekend availability.

I started working with Harman when I was getting around 55% in A-Level Economics and was struggling particularly with analysis and evaluation questions. He broke down difficult economic concepts into simple explanations and then showed me how to apply them effectively in exam questions.

My marks improved from around 55% to approximately 78% in my practice papers, and I went from working at around a C to consistently achieving A/A* grades. The biggest improvement was my confidence with 15- and 25-mark questions, as Harman taught me how to structure my answers and develop stronger chains of analysis. He is very patient, knowledgeable and easy to learn from, and I would highly recommend him.
