About
Brooklyn Music Factory, founded in 2010 and based in Brooklyn, NY, is a community-based music school serving ages 4 through adult with in-person and online programs. Instruction centers on songwriting, music games, and making music with others to build ear training, theory, skills, and technique. Students can take private lessons in piano, guitar, bass, drums, and voice; enroll in group instrument classes; and join bands—more than 20 ensembles rehearse and perform regularly. After-school offerings run during the school year, and day camps for ages 4–11 operate on school holidays and in summer, where students form bands, write original songs, and perform on an in-house stage; shows are live-streamed and recorded. A Counselors-in-Training program supports middle schoolers in developing leadership and teaching skills. Students also perform at local venues such as Littlefield, Splitty, and Rock Shop. Beyond lessons and camps, the school hosts birthday parties, community events, date nights, open houses, and a family concert series. From its Gowanus studios and online, Brooklyn Music Factory additionally licenses its curriculum and provides training to music schools and teachers nationwide.
