About David

There are so many aspects of teaching that excite me. I absolutely love inspiring my students using innovative techniques, nurturing and cultivating their talents and love of music. Seeing them progress and developing their skills and musical accomplishments is a tremendously rewarding. I have been teaching for over 20 years and hold two degrees from Manhattan School of Music and Berklee College of Music. Many of my students have gone on to win piano competitions, sign record deals and become established songwriters and composers. Others just like to learn for fun. I specialize in all styles of music, all skill levels and all ages. My website is:

I am a graduate of Manhattan School of Music and Berklee College of Music. I am not only a professional Classical pianist, but am also a professional singer, songwriter and composer with a number of albums. I have a performance degree as well as a film scoring degree. I have worked in Hollywood for a number of years for film composers such as Hans Zimmer, Graham Preskett and Ray Bunch on the hit network television series,"The Pretender". I have performed both Classical and original compositions throughout the world!

About the lesson

The first step is in meeting and introducing ourselves. I like to learn about my students and find out what their creative passions are and what styles of music that they like. I assess their skill level with various note reading, technique, music theory exercises and other aspects of music and playing. If they are a beginner, I start with basics. I am very big on stressing the basics especially for beginning musicians. I then design and create a unique curriculum individually tailored for each student.
