About Tara

My name is Tara Nevin and I am an enthusiastic and hardworking individual with over three years of tutoring experience. As a medical student, and having achieved 6 H1s in my Leaving Certificate exam, I am confident that I have mastered all forms of studying techniques, thus I have a wide variety of methods that can be applied to tutoring to better help my students retain information and deepen their comprehension of the material. I believe all of my students are more than capable of achieving great results, and my ultimate goal is to improve their self-confidence in areas that they struggle in. Additionally, I am bilingual in both English and French and have a major passion for languages as I have taught myself Chinese, Korean and Spanish as side hobbies. Therefore, through personal trial and error, I have learned the best methods in order to learn a language- be it from scratch or from an already established level. From a more personal standpoint I am a warm and outgoing soul, so no student is too shy (or too chatty)! Additionally, I am an over-planner, so all of my lessons will be thoroughly mapped out in advance and customised to my students needs. I look forward to working with you in the future should you choose to work with me.

About the lesson

My name is Tara and I am half French and half Irish 3rd year medical student. My lessons provide a personalised approach catering to my student's requirements and level. I always begin by assessing the skills and ensuring the foundations of the individual subject are strong before customising the lessons. When it comes to tutoring my goal is to have my students being capable of tutoring the material to someone else in order to ensure they comprehend and retain the information they're learning. I deliver my lessons in an engaging manner, ensuring the student is following (e.g. setting time challenges, creating unique stories to memorise information/ vocabulary, utilising past exam content to make the lessons relevant and up to date with the student's current school curriculum...). My lessons are best suited to secondary school students and I have 3 years total experience working with both junior certificate and leaving certificate students.
