About Jessica
I am very passionate about the subject of Classics and have thoroughly enjoyed my time studying it at degree level. I have been studying Classics since I was 14 and have a particular passion for ancient Greek theatre.
I recently directed a production of the Bacchae at Warwick university. It was the best experience I have ever had and allowed me to develop a deep knowledge for Greek theatre and to work with a large group of people effectively.
My passion for the subject is the reason I want to teach it. I know that sometimes Classics can be confusing and difficult but at it's core it is incredibly interesting and thought provoking. I want all students of Classics to enjoy the subject as much as I do.

I work with secondary school children who need help with their Classics lessons. I work with each student individually and my lessons work around not only their ability but how they work as a student.
My lessons will not exceed 2 hours and my preferred method of tutoring is the Pomodoro method of 50 minutes teaching and a 5 minute break. I find this method the best for personal studying and tutoring the best as it is not draining and keeps engagement to a high degree.
For A Level students in Classics I focus on essay writing and using secondary scholarship to back up all points. Having done the same A Level course as the current students of Classics I have an in depth knowledge of the course as well as a good level of hindsight with the ability to guide students to not make the same mistakes as I did during my A levels.
Being personable with my students is of the upmost importance to me. I have found that a good relationship with students is key to helping them achieve their full potential.
