About Portia
I am a year 12 student at Carey, Kew, and I am an avid and dedicated student of diverse subjects, with a goal of studying Science or Arts at University. I also adore performing in musicals, plays and singing in school choirs. I pride myself on a study life balance, and thus I look to help other students feel more confident in their commitment to school work while continuing to spend time doing what they love. It gives me great joy to witness students developing trust in their own abilities.

My best skill is relating to students and explaining complicated topics in genuine and easy to understand ways and ideas. My teaching methodology usually entails observing the student approach a tricky question, then breaking it down and completing it with the student, making sure to check every step for understanding. Then, to cement the learning, I will create similar or more complicated questions on the same topic. A usual lesson will last for about 1-2 hours, and I am suited for students who need help in 2 or more subjects and students from year 7 to year 11.
