About Ted
I’m an 18 year old who achieved an A at a-level economics in 2023 and is now going to study Business Economics at the university of Cardiff after being predicted a D for economics only one year prior. I believe any student can do the same and it’s my aim to ensure that.

I achieved an A in economics at A level where I had only one in person class a week, and went through 3 different teachers. The year prior zero As were achieved at A level. As a result of having to be self dependent I found that the only way I would succeed was to develop a genuine and passionate appreciation for Economics. In my first mock I achieved an E and am by no means a natural when it came to Economics. However, I truly believe that any student can excel at A-level economics despite their academic past as long as they are willing to put in the time. My lessons would consist of micro topics where I am able to explain and converse with my student about the topic in a fluid manner. As a tutor I believe it is my job to enable that my student is able to understand a topic to the extent where it dosent feel like they are trying to read off a script, I believe this mainly comes from being able humanise topics and explains them in informal ways, I find this to be more effective approach than talking to students for an hour straight and expecting them to understand. My lesson’s would range from 45 to 90 minutes and would follow a personalised lesson plan that would differ from student to student. It would also consist of extra tasks to be completed outside of lesson which would be marked and provided with feedback. My aim is to ensure that my student’s are understanding each and every unit at a comprehensive level and are learning at a speed that is effective yet also comfortable for them.
