About Sharan

Sharan Spall BSc (Hons) 1st Class is the Founder, Lead Learning Mentor & Private Tutor at JS Tutoring. She is passionate and enthusiastic about Mentoring & Tutoring children. A First Class Honours Graduate from the University of Nottingham with 14 years of work experience in industry. Formerly a professional in Investment Banking in London and NYC with many FTSE 100 Companies, Sharan more recently inspires students to excel in Education. Experienced in professional Private Tutoring and Mentoring for nearly 9 years and the founder of JS Tutoring she has a large portfolio of over 80 successful clients. Sharan is currently employed at an Ofsted Outstanding Grammar School in the UK as Learning Mentor, where she ignites a passion for tutoring and mentoring and inspiring children to learn daily. She is also a wife and a mother to two young children.

About the lesson

I specialise in GCSE Maths tutoring as well as tutoring for all four areas of the 11+ Curriculum: • English Comprehension & Literacy • Maths • Verbal Reasoning • Non Verbal Reasoning I run small group-sessions (max 6 children) in my own home and online. I also run premium 1-1 lessons. My sessions are personalised and tailored to the needs of my students. Included in my characteristics as a tutor, I am punctual, a great listener, able to communicate with parents and children, approachable and organised. I am someone who loves to learn. Teaching is the ability to take a complex subject and make it digestible. The best part of teaching is in that ‘light bulb’ moment in your students when they understand something for the first time. My students say that I am fun and that they enjoy my lessons and love coming to their tutoring sessions. For me that says it all because in that environment learning takes place while the student is happy and engaged.
