About Emma
I understand that each student is at a different French level and learns at different paces. I am very adaptable and am able to provide support for whatever it is that each student needs, from homework help to vocabulary, or to improve their French skills.
I understand, from my own French language journey, that the process can take a while; therefore, I am committed to making a positive and successful environment for students to thrive!

I believe that learning a language requires a stress-free environment where students can thrive by having basic conversations, asking questions, and participating in activities in a welcoming community.
My lessons are for students in grades 1-10 who need homework help or would like to enhance their French studies. I mainly focus on pronunciation, reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
In a typical lesson (all done virtually), we would start with a basic conversation in French, such as "Comment s'est passée ta journée?" (How was your day?) or "Qu'est-ce que tu as fait à l'école aujourd'hui?" (What did you do at school today?)
Depending on the student's French level or need for homework help, we would move on to learning how to conjugate verbs, reading short stories to novels, listening to music and focusing on the meaning of the lyrics, watching videos/ french cartoons and discussing the plot, and playing games such as Blookit and Kahoot for vocabulary. Sometimes, there will be small assigned activities just to make sure that the learned content makes sense.
Parents/ guardians are always welcome to join the sessions!
With my experience volunteering for Canadian Parents for French, I enjoy working with other students and would like to give back to the community that helped with my language journey! Looking forward to working with you!
