About Rebecca
Hi! My name is Rebecca and I am currently getting a degree in Philosophy. Probably my favourite hobby is reading, and my least favourite thing to do is math!
Speaking of math, I used to see a tutor for each grade of math, because I struggled with it. Not only was it distressing struggling so much with the subject, it also made my self worth low. It is because of other tutors who helped me, that I regained a lot of confidence in my own intelligence.
I understand how hard school can be, and how difficult it is to struggle with a certain subject. It is my #1 goal to help anybody who is in this situation with English, regain some of their confidence. I want to foster a stress free environment where hopefully the student can find some joy, and maybe even passion, with the areas they want to improve. Reading and writing is certainly not for everyone, and if you do not enjoy it that is okay. All I want to do is help you improve and preform how you want to!

If you are looking to improve your reading, writing, or other English Language Arts skills, I can be your person! I can work with grades 1-12, with any ELA skills necessary.
As someone who worked with tutors throughout junior high and high school, I understand that it can be stressful and scary. I aim to foster a completely stress free environment, where we will do what works for you, because after all this is about you. Due to my approach, a typical lesson plan varies greatly. Depending on what you are struggling with or want to improve, I will create a lesson plan that involves games, exercises, and time to work on assignments from school.
I understand that not everyone learns the same. I also understand feeling “stupid” or “unworthy” due to how you are doing at school. I found this happened to me a lot throughout junior high and high school. I want to emphasize that you are NOT stupid or unworthy, preforming differently than others at school does not have to do with self worth. My overall goal is to help whoever I can grow a little more confident in themselves.
I have an absolute love for reading and writing and I would love to share that with you!
