About Seumas
I am a professional engineer with advanced training and real-world experience in aerospace engineering, mechatronics, software development, and applied mathematics. I hold a Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering from Georgia Tech and a First Class Honors degree in Mechatronics Engineering from the University of Auckland. My career spans industry, government-funded research, and academic laboratories, where I have led complex technical projects from concept through implementation.
My technical background includes Python, MATLAB, C/C++, Simulink, control systems, modeling and simulation, statistics, and probabilistic analysis, along with core engineering subjects such as physics, linear algebra, calculus, and systems engineering.
I am highly experienced in teaching and communicating complex ideas clearly, with a background that includes one-on-one technical mentoring as well as formal presentations to large audiences of engineers and executives. My tutoring approach emphasizes conceptual understanding first, followed by structured problem-solving and real-world application, so students learn not just how to solve problems, but why the solutions work.
