About Rachel
I am a dedicated math teacher, tutor, and content developer with over two decades of experience working with students one-on-one, helping them build confidence and understanding in mathematics. I have a deep knowledge of both the public and independent/private school systems, and I guide students through curriculum and assessment standards, including the BC Proficiency Scale. Known for my patience, compassion, and ability to truly listen, I create a supportive learning environment where students feel safe to ask questions and make mistakes. I am a passionate and experienced math educator with over 24 years of teaching and tutoring students from K–12 through university-level mathematics. I have spent over 20 years teaching and developing high-school and elementary math content and over 15 years teaching and developing course content for Math at all levels, including Calculus I - IV, ODE's, PDE's, Linear Algebra, Probability, Number Theory, Complex numbers, and more. I specialize in adapting instruction for diverse learning needs, including students with IEPs and special education plans, ensuring each learner receives personalized support. I hold a BA in Mathematics and Psychology, a B.Ed in Secondary Mathematics, and am currently pursuing dual master’s degrees in Mathematics. I accept AFU (Autism Funding Unit) support and have extensive experience delivering both in-person and online instruction, making advanced and foundational math accessible, engaging, and achievable for all students.
