About Sophia
I’m a singing tutor with over 6 years of experience and a Bachelor of Contemporary Music, Voice Major. My lessons are designed to provide tailored support for neurodivergent learners and students who experience anxiety. I use sensory-friendly vocal exercises, visual cues, and gentle routines to make every session approachable and stress-free. Students explore genres such as Lullabies, Instrumental Vocalizing, and Calming Pop, allowing them to connect with music in a soothing way. My teaching space is nurturing and affirming, where every student feels safe, celebrated, and encouraged to express themselves fully. I focus on building confidence through small, achievable goals and personalized exercises. Breath awareness, gentle articulation, and mindful vocal warmups are at the heart of my lessons, helping students feel grounded in their practice. I guide learners to discover their own voice at a comfortable pace. Each session blends technique with creativity, encouraging self-expression without pressure. I celebrate every milestone, no matter how small, fostering a love for singing and personal growth. Together, we cultivate joy, self-acceptance, and calm confidence, making every note a step toward expressive freedom and emotional well-being.

My teaching approach centers on tone color, genre adaptation, and technical diversity. I help students explore how their voice can change and express different emotions across styles.
Lessons include safe belting techniques, smooth transitions between registers, and creating expressive contrast in genres from musical theatre to indie. I emphasize building a versatile vocal palette while maintaining healthy technique.
I encourage students to experiment with phrasing, dynamics, and stylistic nuances, helping them discover their unique vocal identity. Technique is always paired with artistry, so every exercise has expressive purpose.
We focus on alignment, breath control, and resonance to support confident performance. I introduce creative improvisation and interpretation to strengthen musical intuition.
Students aiming for artistic freedom, emotional depth, structured progression, or high-level performance receive tailored guidance for their goals. I balance structured exercises with imaginative exploration.
