I work utilising a practical approach, I can give lessons to adults, college students and professionals alike. In Linux common lessons include systemctl commands, Samba Server, Web, server, Network File Share Server, User account administration via command line and apt or dnf software operations (upgrade, remove, clean). In Windows the most common is Windows server / client architecture and basic IT skills on Windows 10 or 11. Cisco Packet Tracer is used for making networks and network simulation as an educational resource. I am very patient with all abilities and don't mind repeating information or steps until the student understands it.

  • Can you tell us about your first experience using a computer?

My first experience in using a computer was in infant school. Although from what I can remember the instance that I knew I wanted to be an IT was when my dad bought me a HP Tower in 2009. I was an administrator on it from then, aged 8 years old, I always enjoyed performing IT tasks such as creating word documents and saving pictures of German cars.
  • What is the technological evolution that has marked you most and what will be, in your eyes, a turning point in this field?

I think personally a technological evolution that has marked me the most is cloud computing as it has reduced the need for expensive and powerful hardware on-premise. Also, the Internet of Everything (IoE) in my eyes has been one of the biggest turning points and I believe it will continue to grow since now we have smart hovers which do the cleaning for us, smart fridges that you can order food from when stock is low and Amazon is working on a smart fridge which can track when stock is low and order some more.
  • Explain your expertise, your interest in it and, more broadly, its importance in the computer world.

My expertise is in networking which is connecting devices together so they can communicate and my interest comes from the fact that the internet is everywhere and I just love securing devices and ensuring networks are as safe and optimal as they can be. Networking is everywhere in large organisations and in homes, being able to secure your network is key, especially in a business environment.

Also I enjoy web design and development. The web is the future as more and more people are online and most applications for business have moved over to web-apps since they are easier to develop and require no hard disk space at all, allowing for a more portable / cross-platform option. I help businesses and individuals with IT and if they are not up-to-date with technological advancements then they will be oblivious when a new change comes which could be costly for a business due to competitors having a better SEO tactics / online presence, or an individual if their friends use an online chat service which they don't know how to use.
  • Do so-called 'visionaries', such as Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg inspire you or do you have other role models?

I look up to Bill Gates since he made the personal computer more accessible to the general population although I have another role model in Linus Torvalds as I believe software to be better when free, I also use the same Operating System as Torvalds, (Fedora).
  • Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

When I was in a drama class for a bronze award we were doing a presentation about our favorite actor or actress and one of my classmates' screen was flickering. I tried to fix it but I got told off by the teacher.
  • What would you say to an uncomfortable person in front of a screen who says that "IT is too complicated"?

I would tell them not to worry as IT was created to make people's life easier. And I will instruct them on how IT can make it easier for them.
  • What are your other passions, related or non-related to computers?

I enjoy Swimming, Gardening, Cooking, Baking and TV / Movies.
  • What makes you a Superprof in IT?

I take the time to get to know my students and I have a wide range of topics that I can offer, I also am able to teach a numberous ranges of different abilities. I also can understand peoples viewpoints well and am empathetic.
