About Céline

- Native French - 11 years of experience: 2 years in a university in Canada, 2 years for Alliance française, 2 years in a private institute in Oxford and 5 years as a freelance tutor. - Patient, passionate and understanding. I studied English literature and French as a foreign language at university. I was inspired by my favourite language professors and became a calm and enthusiastic tutor. During my 11 years of experience teaching French, I have met so many people with different goals, personalities and backgrounds that I am now able to adapt my teaching to pretty much anyone! Also, I write posts to explain grammar for a language learning platform. If you have a question about grammar, I'll give you a concise answer and make sure you understand. Whether you want to learn French for travel or work purposes, romantic or cultural reasons, I am glad you are ready to make time to learn French. I'll do my best to help you speak with fluency and keep you entertained!

About the lesson

Here is my top tip: "Lâchez prise !" Yes, let go and see the results! Don’t worry about making mistakes as they are key to one's learning journey and I certainly don't mind them. You may think some rules make no sense at all. Lâchez prise ! French can be odd but that's the beauty of it. You are afraid to mispronounce a word? Lâchez prise ! Worst case scenario, we'll both have a good laugh. Your tutorials will be organised, entertaining and empowering. I promise you'll learn something new each lesson and you'll do all the talking! Here is what I offer: - Online and in person - Conversation & specialised French - All levels - Content tailored to your needs and interests - Explanation of grammar in French or English (whatever makes you feel comfortable) - Useful word bank - Plenty of time to practise your oral skills

Perfect! Céline is an outstanding teacher of the French language. There are three areas I feel set her apart from other tutors: 1) she took time at the beginning to really listen to my learning goals, and has tailored our lessons to achieve them; 2) she adapts each lesson to the venue, its surroundings and current events - e.g. a fun exercise on navigating Oxford and its traffic(!) in French; and 3) she creates a safe space for making lots of mistakes, returning to areas of improvement multiple times in multiple lessons to make sure you've learnt it. A friendly and professional teacher - highly recommended!

Céline is a fantastic French tutor. Her mother tongue is French but speaks exquisite English which enables her to explain everything so clearly. After only 20 classes I was able to live and work in France!!
She is kind, smiley, friendly and professional which creates an environment perfect for learning.

She prepares a wide range of activities which include consolidating skills recently practised and introducing new materials to work towards our goals.
