About Grace
I have always wanted to be a teacher. I completed a level 2 TEFL course in 2016, completed work experience in a primary school and tutored several young people aged 4-16, in both French and English. As an Oxford student, my level of French is extremely high and I am also very passionate about my subject. I love being able to help and inspire others; to share my knowledge. Being a teacher takes patience and care but the rewards are endless. Having recently been through the education system myself, I am very aware of teaching methods, and the ones that worked best on me. However, I am equally aware that all students have individual needs which I am happy to cater to.

I am an enthusiastic and friendly individual willing to cater to individual needs. I am a third year French scholar at the University of Oxford, so my understanding of the language is at a very high level. My teaching style depends on the age and level of the student. For younger students (4-11) I try to make lessons fun and engaging; there's no reason why we can't learn languages through games! For more specific lessons (GCSE and A-level) we can focus on sylabus based activities; choosing a photo, discussing it; how to listen for key words in listenings; how to remember those annoying irregulars! For speaking, I think building confidence is the most important aspect; I like to provide a stimulus ad see what the student can do, and correct them only at the end. I know how difficult language learning can be but I also know how rewarding it is, especially since I've been living in France and exchanging with locals. It's so easy to become demotivated in school classes but if you can get past some of the repetitive and tedius grammar sections, learning a new language is the best thing you can do! I'd love to offer my services to help aid school children in this amazing process.
