About Aaron
I am a Theology graduate with a strong academic background in Philosophy and Ethics, and a deep interest in helping students not just learn content, but think clearly, argue well, and perform confidently in exams.
My academic training focused heavily on philosophy, ethics, and critical theology, with particular emphasis on argument analysis, structured writing, and evaluative thinking. These are exactly the skills required to succeed at A-Level Religious Studies, yet they are often the areas students struggle with most.
Beyond academics, I have held senior operational roles with responsibility for people, budgets, and delivery, which has sharpened my ability to communicate clearly, structure complex material, and adapt my approach to different personalities and learning styles. I am calm, patient, and methodical in my teaching, and I place a strong emphasis on clarity, confidence-building, and exam technique.
I believe in a guided, Socratic approach to learning, helping students arrive at strong answers through structured questioning rather than rote memorisation. My aim is always to make difficult topics feel manageable, to demystify essay writing, and to equip students with repeatable techniques they can use independently.
I work primarily with A-Level students in Philosophy and Ethics, and I also support GCSE Religious Studies where required. Lessons are tailored to the student’s exam board, current level, and personal goals, whether that is moving from a C to a B, or pushing from an A to an A*.

My lessons are structured, exam-focused, and built around a guided Socratic method. Rather than passive memorisation, I use targeted questioning to help students actively understand arguments, evaluate viewpoints, and develop their own critical responses. Each session follows a clear framework: concept breakdown, guided discussion, exam-style application, and structured feedback.
I hold a 2:1 Theology degree and specialise in A-Level Philosophy and Ethics across AQA, OCR, and Edexcel. Typical lessons are 60 minutes, with optional 90-minute intensive sessions for essay practice and revision. Lessons are tailored to individual strengths, weaknesses, and exam board requirements.
My tutoring is ideal for A-Level students aiming to improve essay structure, AO2 evaluation, argument clarity, and exam confidence. I also support GCSE Religious Studies where required.
