My education philosophy is one of learner-centred learning through
ongoing enquiry and an inquisitive engagement with their world. I
enjoy seeking alternative teaching strategies, centred around the use
of technology, while also recognising the importance of traditional
eye-hand co-ordination and motor skills. I have worked extensively
with, and enjoy learning materials development, that engage the modern
learner in an interactive, entertaining and stimulating manner – these
include Prezi and Doodly as platforms.
In addition to my teaching abilities, I enjoy adding to learners’
lives through exploring activities that include the applied principles
of the natural world through plant cultivation, natural pest control
and biodynamic ecological concepts. Although they may not directly
link to the curriculum, these concepts teach learners the application
of biology, science and maths in the real world and ‘awaken’ learning
for them, while also keeping me up-to-date with new scientific and
