The best method I use for teaching is active learning. This means when I teach, the students don't just sit and listen but instead they are involved in their learning. I direct questions to the students so that they teach each other and this enables them to grasp knowledge faster. I also like using ice breakers just so the students can be relaxed. Ice breakers usually bring out the shy students as well. I usually have a planning rubric before going to class, so when I'm in class I know exactly what to cover and how much time I'll spend discussing a certain topic.
I served as a tutor for English at the University of Fort Hare for two years under the Teaching and Learning Centre. This is where I got most of my knowledge on different learning styles and how to help and reach students that struggle with challenging modules. I hold an Honors degree in the Bachelor of Social Sciences in Human Settlements.
