About Aiden

I’m Aiden, I’m soon to graduate from The University of Edinburgh in Celtic and French MA. I’ve always been curious about languages and I love to share this with my students. Although originally from Wales, I now live in Scotland and have fallen in love with Scottish Gaelic.

About the lesson

As a languages student, I know first-hand the struggles that can arise when learning a new language - more importantly, I know how to tackle these struggles head-on! I will provide student-centred lessons based on individual needs. These lessons take the form of either conversation or language based on the preference of the student. The most important thing to me is for the student to get what they need from each lesson!

Perfect! Aiden was very friendly and explained his method of teaching very well, but left plenty of room to discuss my own personal intentions and motivations with learning. I enjoy that he has materials he is able to work from to create structure in his lessons without it becoming too much of the focus.

Alison is a very motivated Gaelic learner who engages very heavily with the language. Alison's natural curiosity and passion for the language is abundantly clear; she always takes the opportunity to ask questions and is very quick to learn from her mistakes. It is a pleasure to be tutoring Alison this wonderful language!

With Aiden I was able to improve my Welsh speaking skills. I wanted to practice my Welsh in a relaxed and chatty environment and he was very accommodating of that. Since being tutored by Aiden I have gone on to continue learning Welsh with DysguCymraeg but my sessions with Aiden are what gave me the confidence to get the ball rolling with my Welsh. Diolch yn fawr!

Aiden has been teaching me Gaelic for coming up to one year. As a tutor he has taken the time to understand my individual needs and has effectively taken me from zero Gaelic to being able to chat quite confidently. Aiden as a tutor is very good at creating his lessons. I am not studying Gaelic for academic reasons and therefore not following any curriculum but Aiden has been able to create lessons which are adapted to my specific needs and has kept my Gaelic steadily growing. His passion for the language is very clear and certainly motivates me in my learning!
