About Preetha
I am a teacher who believes that math is not about fear or memorizing formulas, but about understanding and thinking logically. I want to teach math because I know many students feel anxious or confused about it, and I want to change that. My goal is to make math clear, simple, and interesting, so you feel confident while solving problems. I believe every student can do well in math with the right guidance, practice, and encouragement—and I’m here to support you at every step.

1. Start with basics (always)
Before jumping to the chapter, quickly check if the student knows the basic concepts needed. Weak basics = confusion later.
2. One concept at a time
Don’t rush. Teach one small idea, practice it, then move forward. Maths builds step-by-step.
3. Think aloud while solving
Solve problems by speaking your thinking:
“First I look at…, then I choose this formula because…”
This helps students learn how to think, not just copy steps.
4. Use simple language
Avoid heavy terms at first. Explain like you’re telling a story. Once they’re confident, introduce proper terminology.
5. Ask them to explain back
After teaching, ask:
“Explain this to me in your own words.”
If they can explain it, they understand it.
6. Mix easy → medium → exam questions
Start with easy questions to build confidence, then slowly increase difficulty.
7. Correct mistakes gently
Don’t say “wrong”. Say:
“Good try—let’s check this step.”
This keeps them calm and willing to try.
8. Regular revision is key
Spend 5–10 minutes every class revising old concepts. Maths needs repetition.
9. Use real-life examples
Relate topics to daily life (money, time, distance). It makes maths less scary and more logical.
