I normally ask what the students are struggling with and then they get to choose the topics they really need help in. Then we sit down and we first do questions so i can see where they are struggling. And then from there we do examples while I explain (teach). Afterwards I give them a chance to do questions on their own without me giving them answers. And then I ask them to explain to their comrades so they teach each other their different methods. From there we continue together. I prefer sitting down with the students where I can see their facial expressions so as when they are not feeling confident I can see that and then do something about it.
I am a medical laboratory student at CPUT. I started tutoring on 2014 with my classmates. Then I grew and started tutoring other grades from other schools and my school too. I was helping people with assignments, homework, research, career guidance and also teaching certain concepts from chapters they don't understand. I started volunteering at Ikamva youth (an NGO that offers tutoring lessons for students) in 2018 and helped students with maths, physics, biology and sometimes geography & maths lit.
