McGill student offering private tutoring lessons in Math, Chemistry, Psychology, English, Music theory in Montreal

Methodology

My techniques and teaching methods include a lot of engagement and use of props. I would say I spend the first class assessing a students' and parents' goals and their interests and learning style from observation. I want to teach in a method that the student can grasp, whether this be through physical models, tons of practice questions or playing games. I also try to explain concepts in simple ways that foster a deeper understanding, then I will give time to practice to foster confidence. I would say my teaching method is special because I want to get students excited about topics and applying them to their everyday life so that they will enjoy learning as a whole and will remember what they learn.

Background

I am a McGill psychology student who has been giving private tutoring lessons for 3 years. I have worked in public institutions as a tutor in Toronto through schools, libraries and community centers for 4 years. I tutor a range of courses from high school Math to Chemistry to English to higher level psychology courses.
