About Emma

Hi there, I am Emma, a 30 year old linguist with a passion for learning languages.

I have a degree in French and Spanish, a masters in translation and in my free time I am learning Italian and Arabic - I would love to apply my skills to help you or your child improve their Spanish too.

I have experience teaching in a Spanish primary school (ages 3-8) and in a language academy (ages 3-16) and I myself have C1 level Spanish, having spent the past year living in the south of Spain.

After nearly 20 years of study, I know how hard languages can be, but I would love to help show you or your child how rewarding they can be too.

About the lesson

My classes are typically one hour long and I like to focus on making learning as fun as possible, using online resources such as Wordwall and Baamboozle to mean that children don’t even realise they are learning.

That being said, as a language learner myself, I love to share my techniques, tips and tricks when it comes time to learn more difficult grammar and concepts.

My classes are aimed at children up to 16 and I am confident teaching up to GCSE and A Level. I am also confident teaching younger children in order to build a foundation for further language study at school.

I also have experience teaching adults, who I find to be some of the most rewarding students and as an adult student myself, I know how hard it can be to find time to learn and practice without a teacher to motivate you.
