About Thomas
I take tutoring seriously and approach every lesson in a professional, well-prepared, and student-focused way. I have previous experience working in an educational setting and hold a DBS check through an employer, so parents and students can be confident that lessons are conducted responsibly.
I have a strong academic background in A-level Economics, Maths, and Physics, and I’ve completed extended independent work in economics, including an EPQ, a detailed essay on monetary policy, and an original labour market policy proposal. This allows me to teach economics with depth, clarity, and real-world relevance.
Lessons are always structured, punctual, and tailored to the student’s needs. I explain ideas clearly, encourage questions, and make sure students leave each session with a better understanding and greater confidence. My aim is to provide a supportive but focused learning environment that helps students make steady progress.

Teaching approach & methodology:
I start by identifying what the student already understands and where the gaps are. Concepts are explained step by step using clear diagrams, simple intuition, and real-world examples. Strong emphasis on exam technique: definitions, chains of reasoning, diagrams, and evaluation
We practise real GCSE and A-level exam questions, with guidance on how examiners award marks. Lessons are interactive — students are encouraged to explain ideas back to me to check understanding
