I am a senior electrical engineer at UMass Amherst, I teach college calculus 1&2, all high school and middle school math levels. I've been described as an enthusiastic tutor who explaines the concepts in mathematics very well.
In my opinion unless the students are interested you can't teach. And even if you continue to teach, you are teaching none. So the most important thing is to involve the students in the topic and make them explain by giving numerous examples (I am good at giving examples).
my teaching method is based on the application of the subject through exercises and practical examples
My teaching method adapts to the students. Typically when tutoring a student I sit down 1-1 and after identifying key areas of difficulty work through them with examples. This however varies greatly if I'm teaching a class and with the subject.
My classes are based on conceptual learning, understanding of context and thourough preparations with regular examinations of the chapters being taught.
I like to talk to the student, asking them questions to see what level they are currently on. I then see what the confusion is with the problem to create a lesson designed for that student in particular. Then the last step is to see how the student is liking my teaching method to see if I have to switch it up.
I like to teach students easy and practical ways to solve problems and things that will help them remember it. Practice makes perfect so thats what they will do. I will provide worksheets they will do to practice or books, DVDs, or videos that will help too.
I am familiar with the national curriculum and the requirements for each year group. I like to teach fun and exciting but structured lessons that will maximise learning opportunities. I ensure students feel relaxed so they can reach their potential.
I always try to study in the manner as I am playing , never take study as a headache, just take it as your hobby and then work out on your hobby.Try to clear all doubts of students and as many doubts one get he/she will be more interested in studying.I used to pick the weak point of student and then I first work out on weak point and then preparing for concepts.
Being from Maths an science background and working as Engineer, I seem to have fairly applied the principles of maths and science in my work life. Hence me teaching methodology is hands on and demonstrative with equal balance of theory and fun.
I would like to make personal supporting materials of the subject you might want to learn or submit for homework. I am not giving you answers first, but I will guide students to learn and fully understand the material and then try to solve problems together.
My teaching method is more practical then theoretical. So that my students can understand the subject more. I take weekly exams to check on the progress done by my student.
