Suresh was my senior in school and later hostel mate in college. Over those years one quality that stood out was how he mentored those younger than him. Never patronising, always throwing new ideas so that our minds explored things beyond the bookish knowledge we were gaining. We went our ways soon after but we kept in touch and it has been heartening to see Suresh kick a secure public sector job to make a mark for himself in the private sector in HR. His later plunge into consultancy has been no less inspiring as he took that call in life when most would have preferred taking it easy rather than establishing oneself all over again. For the sheer risks he has taken, the challenges he has overcome and yet kept life's equilibrium intact, am convinced Suresh will be a great mentor for young students worldwide.
