Hello! I'm Merlin, a passionate and patient tutor dedicated to helping students build confidence and achieve their learning goals. As a Computer Applications graduate currently completing my MSc in Artificial Intelligence, I have a strong foundation in logical thinking and problem-solving. My teaching is built on the belief that every student can succeed when they are given patient guidance and the right tools to understand a subject. I focus on building a student's confidence by breaking down complex topics into simple, manageable steps.
My approach is interactive and student-centered. I don't just give answers; I teach students how to find them.
Our first session is always dedicated to understanding the student's current knowledge, learning style, and specific goals.
For Math, I emphasize a practical, problem-solving methodology. We work through examples together, step-by-step, until the student feels confident enough to solve them independently.
For Computer Skills, my lessons are entirely hands-on. I guide students through practical tasks, from mastering basic software to understanding more complex topics, ensuring they learn by doing.
I create a friendly and encouraging atmosphere where students feel comfortable asking questions without any fear of judgment. I believe curiosity is the key to learning!
A standard lesson is 60 minutes. This provides enough time to review previous topics, introduce a new concept, and practice it thoroughly without overwhelming the student.
I can be flexible depending on the student's needs. For younger children, a 45-minute lesson might be more effective, while older students preparing for an exam might benefit from a 90-minute session.
My Qualifications and Experience
I am a Computer Applications graduate, which has provided me with a strong foundation in logical thinking and problem-solving—skills that are essential for both math and computer science. I am currently pursuing an MSc in Artificial Intelligence, which keeps my technical knowledge up-to-date with the latest industry standards.
I have practical experience tutoring Mathematics to primary and early secondary school students, where I successfully helped them improve their grades and build their confidence in the subject.
