About Giselle
I am a guitar tutor with nine years of experience and a Bachelor of Music in Guitar Performance and Contemporary Music Studies. I have worked with students ranging from complete beginners exploring the instrument for the first time to advanced performers refining technical proficiency, musical interpretation, and stage presence. My teaching philosophy centers on creating a positive, interactive, and inspiring learning environment where students feel supported in exploring their artistic potential and developing technical mastery. I emphasize a student-centered approach, tailoring each lesson to the learner’s individual goals, strengths, and areas for improvement. Lessons integrate technique, repertoire study, improvisation, music theory, performance coaching, and expressive exercises, ensuring a comprehensive and engaging experience. Outside of tutoring, I actively perform and study diverse musical genres to bring real-world insight and professional expertise into my lessons. My guitar lessons are structured to develop technical skill, musical expression, and performance readiness for learners of all levels. Beginners focus on chord formation, finger placement, strumming, scales, and foundational techniques, building confidence and a solid technical base. Intermediate learners work on improvisation, fingerstyle techniques, rhythm precision, and stylistic interpretation. Advanced learners refine solo performance, complex repertoire, dynamic expression, and live performance readiness. Lessons include sight-reading, ear training, improvisation exercises, and performance simulations to strengthen both technical mastery and expressive capability. I foster a supportive environment where learners are encouraged to experiment, make mistakes, and explore their musical creativity while developing discipline and skill.
I balance technical exercises, repertoire study, and creative exploration to ensure comprehensive learning. Students practice coordination, rhythm, intonation, stylistic versatility, and ensemble playing while engaging in mock performance scenarios to consolidate skills.
Additionally, I emphasize expressive storytelling through music, guiding learners to communicate emotion, create musical narratives, and develop a unique artistic voice. By the end of instruction, students gain technical fluency, expressive depth, and stage confidence, empowering them to perform authentically and creatively across diverse musical settings.
