A final year Psychology student offering lessons in English in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Methodology
Firstly I try to gain an understanding of what the person I am tutoring knows about the subject matter. This can be done by a simple test just so that I know what I'm working with and what I should focus on. I also try to detect what method works best for me the student. I am a visual learner but not everyone responds to visual aid the way I do. Each student is unique and I think it is important to understand what works best for the person you are tutoring.
Background
I am in my final year of obtaining my degree. I do not have a qualification as yet, however I do have experience tutoring first year students in my Residence. I did English as a first language throughout High School and I also took it as a module in my first year at University.
