About Amelia
Hi, My name's Amelia and I'm a secondary student who is taking 9 GCSEs, all at higher including Spanish. For two years I've been on and off tutoring many of my close friends and relatives trying to give them a straight to the point but fun way of learning another language. I understand how difficult and stressful a language can be to learn as I had to teach it to myself for a long time. During that time I learnt not only a language but the best and most concise way to go about it which I now want to pass on to others. I used to struggle a lot in school with Spanish due to the way my teachers taught me and how they just didn’t understand me or try to help me personally. The classes became more confusing than educational. I wanted to become the teacher that I didn’t have so others can receive a good language education which cuts all of the useless information and will get you the grade you want. But also provide them with an understanding teacher who will try to cater their learning to their needs.

These lessons are for secondary Spanish students (year 7-11) at any skill level. Depending on fluency, I would be more than happy to adjust the difficulty and speed of learning :) My teaching focuses more on the application of the language so it can be remembered far more than just the knowledge of vocab which is what most classes in school focus on. I also encourage my students to speak with me and have general conversations in Spanish about topics away from the spec so they can get a feel for how the language is actually spoken but also to prepare them for the GCSE speaking exam they may take. Sessions can last anytime from half an hour to an hour depending on the students wants and needs.
