About Lovisa
I am a professional archaeologist with significant experience working in both academic and commercial archaeology. I completed my undergraduate at University College London (UCL) where I received a First Class honours. For my masters, I studied at the University of Edinburgh where I obtained a distinction. My great passions in life are history and archaeology and I always keep up with research news whether it is related to the work I am currently doing or not. Growing up with a mother who worked as a teacher, I have great respect for the art of teaching and transferring knowledge. I take my responsibilities as a tutor very seriously and look forward to welcoming students to a space which will be engaging, fun, and welcoming.

Communication and organisation are the two key pillars of my approach to tutoring. To ensure that lessons are catered to the experience and level of each student, I take great care in communicating expectations and assessing which methods work better than others. I use teaching aids such as PowerPoint and diagrams for students who prefer visual aids when learning. My lessons will not only focus on the syllabus of the course you are completing, but will also examine critical thinking skills, essay planning, and exam prep. Each lesson will be between 45 minutes to an hour long, but potential of extension if this is communicated with me in advance. I have previously taught archaeology and history students in the field during research excavations and projects. My lessons included practical and theoretical aspects. Aside from this, I have previously assisted and guided friends, acquaintances and fellow students in planning, researching, and writing a variety of essays for modules in both history and archaeology. My lessons are aimed at students from the ages of 16 to 24 who are either completing A levels history (or other high school diploma) or embarking on their undergraduate degree in archaeology and history.
