I am an international student who has a dual nationality as a Bolivian and Japanese. I give lessons to students in primary and secondary schools. I usually teach my students straight off of their textbooks, but if needed, I can also provide made-up assignments and tests to ensure that the student gets enough practice to fully grasp mathematical concepts. As a tutor, I am serious with my job and have a clear tutor-student relationship while the tutoring session. However, outside of this, I try to make myself approachable, so that the student may know that I am his or her friend as well. I do not desire to be cold tutor, but rather, build a friendship that might make them enjoy math and life more fully.
I have been giving lessons for three years already, ever since I was in school. I have regularly taught two students but have taught four others. Not in an egotistical manner, but thanks to me, my students were able to fully understand the why they should know certain mathematical concepts. Also, while tutoring them, they have become a lot more interested in mathematics because I tried to make them see the field of mathematics the way I see it. They have definitely improved their grades and have started to take responsibility of their own work.
