You might be wondering, "What is poetry?" Well, it's a form of writing that uses rhythm and rhyme to express feelings and ideas.

Poets use words in a way that makes them more beautiful than they would be on their own: they play with sounds, images and ideas in order to create new ways of seeing the world around us.

Poetry has been popular since ancient times because it can make people feel things they might not normally feel when reading prose (non-poetic writing). It's also great for expressing emotions like love or sadness that aren't easy to put into words otherwise!

A form of poetry that has become very popular for millions of people is called 'Instapoetry'. In this article, we will be looking at Instagram poetry and how poets on Instagram make money.

How To Make Money As A Poet On Instagram

Creating Content

The first thing you should do is create unique and engaging content.

But before you start writing, it's important to find a style of writing that is distinct to you - that will make your content more unique. Once you have decided on your style of writing the second step is to choose a subject.

Third, you need to write a caption for your poem/post that intrigues the reader to stop and take a minute to read your poem.

  1. Finding a style
  2. Choosing a subject
  3. Writing captions
  4. Formatting posts

Building an Audience

To build an audience, you need to engage with your followers.

This can be done in a number of ways:

  • Using hashtags. Hashtags are words or phrases preceded by a hash sign (#), which help people find your content when they search for the tag on Instagram and other social media platforms. For example, if you post a photo of yourself holding up a book of poetry and tag it with #poetsofinstagram and #poetrybooks, then anyone who searches those terms will see your photo in their feed! You can also use hashtags related to the theme or style of your work  — for example, if you're posting about love poems then try including #lovepoems or #romanticpoetry in some way. You can even create custom hashtags like #mynewbook so that only people interested in seeing what kind of book it is will see this hashtag appear in their feed when scrolling through their Instagram accounts!
  • Create engaging content. When you create content that is unique and engaging it catches people's eye. In today's world filled with so many distractions and content, it is key to be unique in your writing. Besides, social media platforms like Instagram have algorithms that like distinctive content and will promote your content if it stands out.

Monetising Your Poetry

You can monetise your poetry in a number of ways.

  • Prints and merchandise: If you have an audience, others will be willing to pay for prints of their favourite poems or merchandise featuring them. You can sell these on your website or Etsy store, or at art fairs and other events where there are lots of people who would like to buy them.
  • Services: If you're good at something — like graphic design or photography — you could offer services related to those skills as part of a package deal with the sale of one or more poems. For example, if someone buys three poems which each cost R150, you could throw in some free graphic design work as well! This is great if someone wants something specific done but doesn't have much experience with the skill required; they get both what they need and some extra value added onto it!
  • Patreon page: This is similar to selling prints/merchandise except instead of selling physical objects directly through an online store like Etsy or Takealot (which requires shipping costs), Patreon allows creators who aren't ready yet for full-time employment but still want financial security over time periods ranging anywhere from one month up until infinity depending on how much money patrons donate each month - which means no overhead costs since everything happens digitally without any physical products being shipped anywhere except maybe some digital files containing artwork created specifically for patrons only.

Marketing Strategies

It's important to work out a strategy even if it's just for 6 months. A well thought out plan will enable you to be more organised and make calculated decisions that will help you grow your following and increase your engagement. Here are a few ideas to add to your strategy:

  • Using influencers: If you're a poet, one of the best ways to market yourself is by collaborating with other poets who have large followings on Instagram. You can find them through hashtags or by searching for users who post about poetry and then looking at the people that follow them. This will give you an idea of the audience that are following each account and how many fans they might have if they were to promote your work in some way (e.g. sharing your post to their story).
  • Running contests and giveaways: Having fun contests where fans can enter by leaving comments on your poems can increase engagement while also getting people excited about what's going on in the world of poetry!
  • Creating an email list: One thing that most poets don't do enough of is building up their email lists so that they can stay connected with fans after posting something new online

Developing a Brand Identity

It's time to get creative and craft a brand that resonates with you that will give your audience something to remember. Here is what you need to do to get started:

  • Create a logo.
  • Develop a website and brand identity.
  • Craft a mission statement, which should be short and to the point, like this one: "To make money as a poet on Instagram."

Finding Sponsorships and Collaborations

Finding sponsorships and collaborations is a great way to make money as a poet on Instagram. The first step is do some research: find out who's already doing it, and see how they're doing it. Then you can submit proposals for yourself, or negotiate terms with potential partners.

  • Researching potential partners: Use social media to find out which brands are already sponsoring poets and other creatives on Instagram (or elsewhere). Look at their following, engagement rate, number of posts per month--all of this information will help you decide whether or not they're worth approaching with your own proposal.
  • Submitting proposals: Once you've found some promising businesses that might be interested in partnering up with you, send them an email explaining why their brand would benefit from working with yours (and vice versa). Include links to previous work so they can get an idea of what type of content comes from your account(s). You may also want include examples of similar campaigns by other artists/businesses who have been successful at attracting new followers through sponsored posts. This will show them what kind of results could be achieved if they were involved too!
